And what hero were much of America pining for? Donald Trump of course. So you ended up with a thriving ecosystem of rage bait and hopium that sustained millions of us throughout the dark years. But what happens when they achieve their stated end and the candidate that they&apos;re endorsing actually begins to start putting points on the board? And that leader is either painted as a hero or a villain in order to fit into the hero&apos;s journey framework that represents modern media.
