The End of Podcast Politics

It really is a strange thing to see the entirety of the right-wing podcast cabal turn heel all at the same time. When Biden was president, it was easy to point to whatever he was doing as something horrible that deserves all of your attention and derision. And what goes great with a villain? A hero. And what hero were much of America pining for? Donald Trump of course. So you ended up with a thriving ecosystem of rage bait and hopium that sustained millions of us throughout the dark years. But what happens when they achieve their stated end and the candidate that they’re endorsing actually begins to start putting points on the board? All of a sudden, he’s transformed into the villain that needs to be defeated, but this time there is no real hero that anybody cares about despite their desperate attempts to manufacture one.

At this point, the entirety of the right-wing podcast sphere is a complete wreck of itself, and those of us who see the strings moving are wondering what their motivations were to begin with. Was it money? Predictive programming? A convenient foil to the ruling class? Were any of the ideas being peddled tenable, useful, or even possible? At this point, I’m literally questioning everything I pretended to believe for the last six years of my life.

When information is made scarce, it’s easy to grasp at what’s put right in front of you. When YouTube started deplatforming people and Rumble was presented as the alternative, it was already populated with a cadre of people that I didn’t recognize who were all following the same formula of presenting information in a way that media has been practicing for centuries since the advent of tabloid journalism. Obviously, the people that I’d been following for years weren’t unique.

When the likes of Alex Jones was being targetted for desctruction, it was easy to assume that his show was some beacon of truth that was being silenced, but every time I listened in, he just sounded like some street preacher shouting strange ideas about human alien hybrids and interdimensional vampires. Why did any of us believe these people were anything but scavengers telling us what we wanted to hear as long as we continued to support their endeavor?

During this entire time, we were given a plan for the resurrection of our country and the return of power back to the people at the expense of the oligarchy that wants to control our lives. It’s this manufactured dichotomy that gives us somebody to root for and to root against. In the meantime, we had a minority of “true patriots” in the halls of congress who are telling us how bad everything is and they’re just there waiting in the wings to help bring about our glorious new world. But there was no real momentum to actually accomplish anything - just a bunch of performative words and deeds. So when it actually came time to accomplish something politically, everybody was left agasp when the hero they’d been rooting for was teaming up with much of the same oligarchy that they were “fighting” so hard against instead of the noble opposition that was put in front of our eyes.

Sorry folks, but there will always be an elite. Human beings naturally build a hierarchy, and most people feel safe and secure toward the bottom of that hierarchy - eating scraps thrown at them from their ravenous alphas. The reason Tom Luongo’s ideas were so attractive to me back in 2022 is because he didn’t see the world as some WWE drama. He saw it as a centuries long battle between global elites that continues to unfold as time goes on.

What the rest of these podcasters do is paint an unrealistic picture of some utopian future that will not and can not exist, then when the moment is right, they use that programming that they helped to instill in you to try and get you to detach from a force that actually has the potential to make positive change for you and your family. They don’t care. They never cared. Your behavior is what they’re selling - just like TV news. If you want entertainment, you can find it pretty easily. If you want information, you’re going to have to work for it. But if you want to live your life, tune the fuck out and do something useful that somebody is willing to pay you for.
